Patricia A. Hasson

President

Patricia A. Hasson has served as President and Executive Director of Clarifi since 1998.  Reporting to the Board of Directors, Hasson oversees operation of the agency and its professional and administrative staff of 60+ employees.  During her twelve year tenure the agency has tripled in size expanding to meet the increased demand for financial counseling and education service in a major metropolitan area and now operates 13 offices throughout the ten-county Philadelphia and southern New Jersey region.  In addition the agency has taken the lead on a national program with a mortgage insurer to assist homeowner's experiencing difficulty with their mortgage.

Hasson has channeled much of her energies and resources into initiating and implementing financial education programs, benefiting low-moderate wealth households throughout the Delaware Valley.  She has also taken a lead role in sharing her knowledge and expertise with the local business and non-profit community as well as local, state and federal government officials on financial issues impacting consumers, specifically related to housing and credit. 

In 2007, Hasson was appointed for a three year term to the Federal Reserve Board Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) and in 2009 was appointed Chair of the Housing & Community Development Committee on the CAC.  Founded in 1976, the CAC meets with the Board of Governors three times a year to advise the Fed on issues including fair lending, community development and consumer protection.  In 2009 the Reinvestment Fund (TRF) in Philadelphia awarded Clarifi the George Bailey Award in recognition of its entrepreneurial spirit and outstanding commitment to investing in the community for a better future.  Her agency was also awarded the 2008 United Way of Southeastern PA Champion of Impact Award, for exemplary leadership in improving income for residents of our region. 

The Philadelphia Business Journal and NAWBO honored her with the 2006 Women of Distinction Award.  In 2005, she was awarded the Center City Proprietors Association in Philadelphia Lifetime Achievement Award for her agency's commitment to stabilizing neighborhoods and improving the quality of life for individuals and families in the Greater Philadelphia area.

She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.  In 2008-2009 she served on the chamber's Executive Committee and was Chair of the Small Business Board.  She also currently serves as President of the Board for Greensgrow, an urban farm in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.  

Prior to joining Clarifi, Hasson spent more than 12 years as a banking executive with a diverse consumer and commercial lending background which includes expertise in small business, credit cards, education finance, merchant processing and auto finance.

Hasson has an MBA from Villanova University and BS in Finance from the University of Dayton.
