Planning for education after high school is one of the most important times in a young person's life. It can also be one of the most overwhelming.
How EFS Came to Be
Clarifi has been educating individuals on personal financial management for over 45 years. In 2008, Clarifi recognized some alarming trends among its existing client base. More and more clients had student loan debt as a growing segment of their debt portfolio. In 2011, U.S. student loan debt reached the $1 trillion mark, supassing total credit card debt in 2010. In addition, student loan debt is not erased in bankruptcy and continued to be a financial burden after a bankruptcy.
Student loan debt is not just for students – parents and even grandparents are carrying large amounts of student loan debt on behalf of a child or grandchild. Clarifi realized that a significant root cause for this increasing debt is a lack of planning in high school on choosing the right school and having a plan to pay for it. Only 56% of students that attend a traditional four-year college after high school graduate and only 50% of graduates work in a field that matches their degree of study (Dept. of Education, 2009).
In response to this situation, we created Education Financing Services to help students answer the following:
- What am I truly passionate about doing?
- What school is the best fit for what I want to pursue?
- Which of those schools will be the most affordable for me to attend?

Education Financing Services combines trusted web based tools, one-on-one counseling, and on-going support and consultation to provide:
- Professional career guidance counseling that helps your daughter/son identify the course of study that matches their skills, abilities and interests.
- Detailed analysis on the various schools that can provide the education required.
- A financial plan on how best to pay for each school based on the information you and your daughter/son provide.
- On-going support before and after acceptance to the post secondary institiution your daughter/son selects.
