Most Admired CEO: Philadelphia Business Journal

Clarifi President and Executive Director Patty Hasson was honored as a Most Admired CEO by the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Under Patty's 18-year tenure, Clarifi expanded the number of programs and services from six to 47. Through these offerings, over 250,000 individuals avoided foreclosure, paid down debt, reduced student loan debt and worked with coaches to meet financial goals.

Patty was also recognized for leading the rebranding effort that changed Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley to Clarifi in 2012 and established new core values and a new mission and vision for the nonprofit.

Social Innovation Journal Award

Senior Vice President for Development and General Counsel Markita Morris-Louis was honored with a Social Innovations Journal Award in the category of Social Mobility in February of 2017.

Morris-Louis led efforts to expand Clarifi's Financial Empowerment Centers, which take a case-management approach to financial literacy as a means of poverty alleviation. She is dedicated to working with community stakeholders throughout the Delaware Valley to understand how to prioritize financial literacy and support innovations in how low-income individuals improve their financial stability.

Council on Accreditation

Clarifi is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) every four years and was last re-accredited in 2015.

The COA is a nonprofit, human service accrediting organization. Their mission is to partner with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards.

NFCC

Clarifi is a current member of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and our Chief Operating Officer, Anita Brown, serves on their Operating Committee.

The NFCC®, founded in 1951, is the nation’s largest and longest-serving nonprofit financial counseling organization. The NFCC’s mission is to promote the national agenda for financially responsible behavior, and build capacity for its members to deliver the highest-quality financial education and counseling services.

HUD

Clarifi is approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide housing counseling.

HUD's mission is to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all.

Better Business Bureau

Clarifi has been accredited by the Better Business Bureau since 1970 and currently has an A+ rating. You can see for yourself on their website.

Financial Empowerment Center

In March of 2013, Clarifi and The City of Philadelphia opened six Financial Empowerment Centers (FECs) in various neighborhoods throughout the city, which grew into 18 sites at the program's height in 2014. Philadelphia was one of six initial cities awarded a three-year grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies to replicate the successful FEC model started in New York City.

From 2013-2015, Clarifi saw 9,000 clients in 20,000 counseling sessions. They also helped clients collectively save $957,000 and reduce debt by $7.8 million.
