Service Fees

At Clarifi, we believe everyone should have access to the services to achieve Lifelong Financial Literacy.

For many years, Clarifi has provided most of its counseling and education services at no cost to our clients through a combination of grants and local, state and federal funding.

However, funding for our programs has become more limited as more organizations compete for the same funding.  At the same time, our client base and client needs have expanded and we have added additional and enhanced services.  As a result, we no longer have 100% funding for all of our services.

We are very sensitive to what you can realistically afford, and the modest fees we charge reflect this.  However, as a nonprofit community resource, we never turn away a client because of inability to pay.

If your income falls below the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines, we have the ability to waive or reduce service fees.

FAQs

Why do you charge fees?

As a 501 c3 nonprofit, Clarifi relies on funding from a wide variety of sources to support the services we offer. Our fees are dictated by the funding we have available at the time. In some cases 100% of services are paid for by funding and we’re able to offer a service at no cost to you. In other cases, limited or no funding is available and we are forced to charge a modest fee.

Why does a nonprofit organization charge any fees?

Nonprofits still have expenses, just like any other company.  If our programs are not funded at a certain level, we need to charge a modest fee to help cover our operating costs.

I used your service in the past and I was not charged a fee. Why now?

Each year, funding for our programs becomes more limited as more organizations compete for the same funding.  Also, due to the growing demand and changing needs of our clients, we have added additional and enhanced services.  As a result, we no longer can offer 100% funding for all of our services.  We are very sensitive to what our clients can realistically afford and the modest fees we charge reflect this.

What if I can’t afford a fee?

As a nonprofit community resource, we never turn away clients because of an inability to pay. If your income falls below certain guidelines, your counselor has the ability to waive or reduce service fees.

What are the guidelines for waiving fees?

You can view the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Poverty Guidelines for 2017 to see if you may be eligible to have fees waived.
