It is important to consider the relationship between race, wealth, and the ability to start, grown and maintain a viable business. For many people of color, the goal of building generational wealth through entrepreneurship is a much different journey.
But together, we can face it. This October, our Clarifi Boot Camp has partnered with PIDC which shares our vision of a city that supports minority small business opportunities. When you commit to our Boot Camp, you’ll have access to resources and business experts that will help you meet your goals to build wealth through entrepreneurship.
Clarifi and PIDC believe everyone should have fair access to financial opportunities. Here's what to expect:
Get expert advice on managing your operational budget as a business owner
Work with a Financial Coach for 6 months to achieve your financial goals
Meet with a Clarifi counselor to review your budget
Take steps to improve your personal credit and reduce your debt to prepare for future business funding opportunities
Network with other small business owners working towards their money goals
Learn about PIDC lending options and how to qualify
To sign up, participants must be an owner of an established and operating business. Current clients of PIDC are encouraged but all are welcome. For more information and to register contact Ronette Streeter at PIDC.
Soneyet Muhammad, Clarifi's Director of Community Engagement, recently sat down with Comcast Newsmakers' Jill Horner to talk about our Racial Wealth Gap Boot Camp, how it can help participants and why it's needed.
